Urban illumination in the 2023/24 season will decorate the streets in the style of the 50s and 60s, creating an aura of homely warmth and nostalgia.

The sunny days of summer are still enveloping Warsaw, but the mayor's office has already shared plans for the New Year's illumination. This season, which ends 2023/24, urban decoration will provocatively send us back to the era of the 50s and 60s. Inspired by retro style, the decor will immerse the city in an atmosphere of homely warmth and nostalgia.

The first lights of New Year's magic will flare up in Warsaw in September, as Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski shared. The company Multidekor, which has earned the trust of the city hall in previous years, this year also provided the best offer and won the tender for organizing the festive decoration.

Modern technologies will go hand in hand with concern for the environment - the company promises to use energy-saving solutions, Trzaskowski emphasized.

Already traditional, the tallest Christmas tree in Poland (27 meters high) will rise on Castle Square in the 2023/24 season. This multimedia tree will be created using clean energy materials.

The illumination is inspired by the style of the 50s and 60s, so on the streets of Warsaw you can see the familiar scenery of that time: old telephones, radios, scales and TVs. This creates a special atmosphere for young people to immerse themselves in the childhood of their parents.

Expect retro carousels and classic Christmas decorations on the Royal Route, Nowy Świat and Świętokrzyska Street. New Year's illumination will turn Warsaw into a huge time machine, taking you to distant, but such beloved years.
