Polish Baltic Philharmonic named after Frederic Chopin

Description

The Polish Baltic Philharmonic named after Fryderyk Chopin, located in Gdańsk on Ołowianka Island, is an important cultural centre with a rich history. The building, built in 1897-1898 as a power plant, was converted into a concert hall, preserving the neo-Gothic façade. Since its opening in 2002, the Philharmonic has offered a variety of musical programmes in its four halls, including the 1,100-seat Great Concert Hall and the 180-seat Chamber Hall. There are also jazz and Oak Halls, a recording studio and an art gallery.

The Philharmonic is proud of its ensembles, such as the Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, the Baltic Quartet and other chamber ensembles. Under the leadership of Director General Roman Perutsky, a renowned organist, the institution continues to develop the musical culture of the region.

The concert schedule and poster can be found on our website, where you can also buy tickets. The Polish Baltic Philharmonic is a place where classical and contemporary music find a harmonious combination in the unique atmosphere of a historic building.
