COS Torvar Arena

Description

The COS Torvar Arena is an indoor arena in Warsaw, Poland. Its history begins in 1953, and since then it has become a popular venue for various events. The capacity of the arena is up to 4,824 spectators in the stands, and it is also possible to add up to 1,480 seats on the floor.

Located next to the Polish Army Stadium, the COS Torvar Arena is used for concerts by the most popular artists, ice hockey and other indoor sports. In addition, it is the home arena of the UHKS Mazowsze hockey team.

It should be noted that many important events were held in the arena. For example, in 2001 the Saporta Cup final was held here, and in 2007 the hall hosted the European Figure Skating Championships. The COS Torvar Arena also became the venue for the preliminary round of the Eurobasket 2009 and the famous Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) mixed martial arts events.

In 1984, Iron Maiden opened their World Slavery Tour with a concert that attracted the attention of thousands of fans, even those who listened to music outside the venue. Another legendary band, Depeche Mode, played one of their first concerts in Eastern Europe here in 1985. In 2014, OneRepublic performed at the COS Torvar Arena as part of their European Native Tour.
